chronic ankle problem

by: J.W. on Wed, May 28 2008

I am an active duty Marine who has dealt with a chronic ankle problem for 6 years. I rolled my ankle and heard a pop. I was initially diagnosed with a torn ligament, but no MRI’s or additional testing to confirm. After several months of rehab with no progress, I was told that my ankle was fine and that my arches had fallen. I was given generic orthotics and sent on my way. This helped a little, but I still roll my ankle daily. I have had a noticable lump on the ball of my ankle since initially rolling it. It is extremely painful to the touch if I am on my feel for more than about 5 minutes. Does anyone have a clue as to what this could possibly be?
