Trying to be patient

by: A.L. on Fri, Jun 27 2008

I delivered our baby girl 11 days ago and the next day woke up with Bell’s Palsy symptoms. I was tipped off by having trouble eating and drinking. The symptoms got progressively worse during the day and a neurologist ruled out stroke and diagnosed Bell’s Palsy the next morning. She told me that I have a “subtle case” and prescribed a low dose of predinose (so that I could still nurse). She said it would probably remit in 2 to 3 weeks. It seems slightly better a week and a half later, but at one week I started having pain in that side of my face. I contacted a chiropractor and go back for a second adjustment today. I am hoping that the facial muscles will recover faster than if left untreated. The first adjustment did seem to decrease the pain. Not really sure what to think, just trying to be open-minded and patient. Really hoping it doesn’t last too much longer.
