To quickly access health information from your website's browser, download Colon Resection Surgery I am a once again healthy 36 year old whom has been dealing with severe colon problems for the last year. I finally had a colon resection done on April 25, 2007. It was supposed to be laprascopic but my colon was over a foot too long (which caused diverticulitis) and it was set up completely backwards. (The doctor had never seen this before - a birth defect I was told.) My colon was wrapped around my spleen and my dying gallbladder. I had an incision from the bikini line to beyond my bellbutton. It was a horific experience, the pain was unbearable. But 3 weeks later, I’m doing very well. I’m walking about 2 miles a day, and I feel better now than what I have in many years. I was misdiagnosed for years as having “Irritable Bowel Syndrome”, because of my erratic bowel problems. All along, I was misdiagnosed. So, please do your research and don’t hesitate to see another doctor if medication doesn’t help. I’m healthy once again and continue to do better every day! Thank you, Jennifer Comments
