I just learned last week that I have high blood pressure and I am down about it. I’ve had diabeties for about 5 years now and thought that I was done with illnesses until age 80. Not so long ago, my doctor told me that I was in denial about the sugar. I said how can I be in denial when I eat pills everyday… Nonetheless, I worked on myself, tried a little harder; and now that I have adjusted to the fact that I have diabeties–meaning that I have managed it well over the last year. I am suddenly hit with the hypertension news. What the hell! Not to “toot my own horn”, but toot-toot. I am a healthy looking vibrant woman. a friend even said to me “You look so fit, so well, I would have never known.” My doctor prescribed Lisenopril last week, and after 2 days, I ended up in the emergency room with an allergic reaction. My tongue had swollen. Fortunately I had caught it before it was truly life threatening. Now I don’t want to take anything. Pray for me people, feelin kinda heavy hearted. Doesn’t seem fair. People say that diabeties and hypertension offen go hand and hand, but it’s much too much for me to accept these days. I will do right by it and snap out of this funk eventually, but I am struggling these days. Comments
