To quickly access health information from your website's browser, download Insomnia and Female Hormones Connected I have found that fluctuations in hormones (whether PMS perimenopause, or just an imbalance of some kind) can definitely throw off my ability to fall asleep. I have done a lot of reading about hormones and my theories fit with what I read. I think it’s possible that hormone levels can affect men’s sleep patterns too, but I think it’s more an issue for women. I don’t know. I found that taking natural hormones (not synthetic ones like HRT) under a doctor’s advice and supervision is very helpful in resolving all kinds of hormone-related issues, including insomnia. I tried using over-the-counter hormone creams (which some natural food stores have) but it wasn’t helpful for me. Only the kind you get from a doctor have been helpful for me. Unfortunately many doctors don’t know about natural hormone options so I had to find a specialist. My doctor is an integrative medicine physician (M.D.) but other kinds might also specialize. Natural hormones are sometimes called “bio-identical hormones.” Anyway, that’s just what worked for me. Only a doctor can run the hormone tests to see if that is the cause. Good luck. Comments
