Suddenly my back on the right side, low beneath my ribs started hurting. I was driving in my car, and couldn’t find a positin to relieve the pain. then the pain felt as if it was traveling around my side to the lower stomach/groin area. Anyway, by the time I got home, I was naseous, and had broken out into a cold sweat. I was scaring my 2 daughters to death (12 and 16). I was constantly up and down, vomiting, and just in terrible pain. The kids called my dad to come take me to the ER, but by the time he arrived, I was feeling some better. He’s got a long history of kidney stones and thought I was trying to pass a stone. So I didn’t go to the hospital. About 3 hours later, it started again, even worse this time. this time I was ready to go to the hospital. When we arrived, the pain had subsided again, so I chickened out and didn’t go to the hospital. I went home and was feeling like the worst was over, so I went to my friend’s house to watch a movie. After about an hour, the pain started again. It got pretty intense pretty fast. All day I was having the urge to go to the bathroom, but nothing was happening when I did. I couldn’t pee, even though I had immense pressure. So anyway, I begged off and went home because i didn’t want him to see me in as much pain as I knew was coming. Less than an hour after I got home, I was finally able to go to the bathroom, and sure enough I passed the stone. It was a tiny blackish/brownish fairly round stone. I retrieved the stone and looked it up on the internet, and even though I don’t have a diagnosis, I’m positive that’s what it is. The strange thing to me was that almost immediately after passing it, almost all of my pain was gone. I was still tender in my back, beneath my ribs, but was able to crack a smile just minutes after writhing in pain. I hope I never have to go through that again! Comments
