Update “My parkinsons and Mangosteen Capsules”

I have been taking Mangosteen Capsules for the last four years now and so far I have no bad/negative side effects, serious or otherwise. My maintenance dose which is approved by my Neurologist is 2 capsules 4 times a day. True to form, my Parkinson’s has now progress to a point where I now suffer from Loss of Balance and Dyskenesia. My Neurologist has now change my medication from Madopar and Broflex syrup to Pramipexole (3 tab 4xa day) and Stalevo (2 tabs 4x a day)

and also added Amantadine (1 cap. morning and noon)for my Dyskenesia. My Chronic Back Pain is the one that has really gone from bad to worst. The pain sometimes becomes so excruciating that it renders me housebound and on occasion, bedbound. On my Diabetes side, there is some good news. My dossage used to be 2 Metformin 3 times a day and half a tablet of Gliclizide 2 times a day. However, sometime in the middle of 2008, I started to have bouts of Hypoglacemia, so my GP reduced my dosage to 1 Metformin a day

and no more Gliclizide, and told to monitor my blood sugar levels at least once a day but still stick to my sugar free diet. My sugar level used to hover between 5.5 to 9, but never beyond 9.9. Lately however, I started to monitor my blood sugar levels 3 times a day for 4 week, no Metformin and NO DIET. I started to indulge myself on my favorite desserts such as Rum & Raisin flavoured ice cream and tiramisu. Surprisingly, the highest reading that I have is 11. I test myself first thing in the morning, noon, early evening and bedtime, aroung 1am. In the morning , it is almiost always around 5-6, about 7-8 at noon, round about 9 in the early evenings and between 9 to 11 at bedtime. It seemed very encouraging. I plan to discuss this results with my GP very soon.

My outlook in life is still the same.Bright and positive. I am scheddule to have an Epedural come March 2010 for my back pain and hope to be back to my usual routine of being able to savour and enjoy the sights and sound as I walk the streets of London. I honestly beleived that this is all due to Mangosteen capsules.
